My experiences with Patanjali products (Baba Ramdev)

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 10:27 PM PDT

By Ishika,

Good Morning to all WiseShe readers. How are you all doing? After a hectic start to the weekend, I had a lazy and relaxing Sunday. So I sat down to share my experiences with the different Patanjali products which I have been using since past 2-3 months. Thanks a lot Anamika for introducing me to these wonderful products. Patanjali is an initiative by Yog Guru Baba Ramdev whose objective is to build a disease free world by improving and protecting the health of people.

To achieve this objective, they have opened Patanjali Chikitsalayas in different cities which have a qualified doctor who gives ayuvedic medicines( to people for treating different ailments and also sell off their merchandise at a price which is absolutely unimaginable. Trust me the prices are such that you wont mind splurging at all. Even my husband is so fond of these products that he doesn't mind any of my hauls provided they are from patanjali. All these products are not publisized at all hence most people are not aware. The gradual increase in awareness is only through word of mouth. So, let me also have the pleasure of promoting these products by sharing my experiences with you guys.

1. Patanjal aloe gel

This was the first product that I started using after Anamika's recommendation. I have an acne prone skin and there are very rare ocassions when my face looks clean. I started using the aloveara gel as my night cream and the change I saw was remarkable. It has a very soothing and lovely smell which added a glow to my face and also helped me in taking care of acne. I have even tried using it as a day cream. Applied in the morning and went to office. It is absolutely non-greasy and does not make your face look oily as most gel based creams do. Moreover the smell is long lasting and makes you feel fresh for long.

2. Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair cleanser

I had got this product for my husband coz he is a firm follower of ayurveda and believes a lot in herbal and ayurvedic products. He liked it a lot so I thought let me also give it a shot. I was happy my try din't go waste. It doesn't have that typical smell as most ayurvedic shampoos do. The smell of orange makes it even more desirable. I have dry hair but usage of this shampoo makes them soft and smooth. It is neither too thick nor flowing like most shampoos are and can remove any kind of oil in just one wash. For long hair you might have to use it twice. My husband has been using it for quiet sometime now and it did help in controlling hairfall for him as the product rightly claims.

3.Dant Kanti Toothpaste

All the patanjali products that I have tried till now were after reading anamika's blog and trust me was not disappointed at all. Once when I went to buy stuff, I saw lot of people buy Dant Kanti and decided to try it out.

The toothpaste has a deep brown color which I didn't find much appealing. I have always been a Meswak fan and love the taste. Once I used this one, I was not too happy. It has lot of cloves in it which somehow doesn't appeal to me much. The best part of this toothpaste is that it makes you feel fresh and refreshed for a long time. And considering the fact that it is completely herbal, I still continue to use it.

4. Aloevera juice (Aloevera liquid) -

I had been looking out for alovera juice since long but the outlets were running short of it. So I started using fresh juice form the alovera plant but it involved too much of hastle. On one of my visits to the patanajali store, I was delighted to see that they finally had the stock. The juice comes in basically three form: alovera+orange juice, alovera juice with fiber, plain alovera juice. It is basically meant for drinking and is known to give respite in number of diseases and ailments. I was suffering from hairfall problem and read on wiseshe that alovera juice helps in controlling that.

The juice has the color of vegetable clear soup and if flowing in nature so it keeps dripping and falling. Has a very light fragrance which is not bad at all. To be frank, I have been using this juice for a month now but haven't seen much improvement in my hair fall problem but I guess it takes a little longer for results to show up.

5. Tejas –Coconut Oil (Baba Ramdev coconut oil)

I have always liked to oil my hair wih coconut oil. Had been using parachute coconut oil till I started using this one. Trust me once you start using it you would realise it is actually very pure as claimed. The product is actually meant for cooking but I have been using it as a hair oil. Have been suffering from hairfall problem. So I warm the oil and apply it in my hair roots. It does help me. The oil bottle comes in a comfortable flip cap packaging and is neither too thick nor too thin like most oils are. The coconut smell is very pure and not too strong so doesn't clog the nostrils. All in all a wonderful product.

6. Divya Kesh Tel (Hair oil for hair loss)

This is for those you can do anything to protect their hair. The oil is of flowing consistency and has a dark brown color which is not that appealing. It has a very strong and putrid smell which even if you decide to bear, the people around may find disgusting. So basically the product has all the features of a typical herbal product with an absolutely unimpressive packaging. I had bought it long back but could not make my mind somehow to use it considering the smell. But when my mom used it and liked it I decided to bear the smell considering the fact that I can do anything to protect my hair as I just love them. My mom felt that it certainly checks hairfall. So guys go grab it if love your hair and can goto any extent to protect them. If you can bear the smell then you have the right product. I have grabbed my share already.

My experience with VLCC Kondapur (Hyderabad)

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 07:58 AM PDT

I was in mood to pamper myself so thought of visiting VLCC Kondapur today. I went with prior appointment and I am glad I did that because the moment I was there the whole VLCC was filled with customers.

Most of the women were interested in getting facial, pedicure and manicure for upcoming Karwa chauth. Staff there is quiet cordial and they were honest in what ever they commit. When I reached there they asked me to wait for five minutes and I thought that I might have to wait for half an hour now but exactly after five minutes  later they asked me to to come in the saloon.

I liked their honest attitude unlike most parlors in Delhi where beauticians lie to their customers so that they don't leave without getting anything done.

I was interested in getting a pedicure and a facial but then I changed my mind because I am not a facial person.I thought let me do something different today so I asked them for a face wax  .

There were 4-5 pedicures there which included a french pedicure, simple pedicure, Aroma pedicure and paraffin wax pedicure.I took the Aroma pedicure as I don't have long nails and paraffin wax pedicure was around Rs 500-600 so I thought of taking the Rs 450 aroma pedicure. They even had AHA pedicure which was just irresistible but as I just did a post on saving on beauty product I some how managed to control myself. AHA was some where around Rs 800 only.

Guy there was too nice and did the pedicure in one and half hour. They used all VLCC products which included feet scrub , moisturizer and oil too.I complete loved they way he did all the things with so much of patience.

Here is me with my neat and clean feet after the aroma pedicure.

After the pedicure she asked me to wait for five minutes again and after five minutes I was called for face waxing. After too much of ohh aah ouch I got the face waxing done. I do have some hair on my cheeks but no one can see them easily. It is me only who looks at her face around 10 times in a day can notice them.Just to get rid of those I thought of getting face wax done.

Beautician told me in between that you should go for bleach rather than face wax but the damage was done. After getting the face wax I can easily see same hair on my face.I guess bleaching is the right option. Also, after so called getting my facial hair removed my skin feels as if there is some electric current which has been passed into it.
Only good thing was that I am looking lit bit fairer because waxing has removed some bit of tanning.
So ladies if you want to get face wax like me then please think again and sensitive people just stay away from these harsh things. They can be dangerous and can leave some permanent damage.

All in all I am impressed with VLCC Kondapur.Though they need to increase their staff so that other customers do not have to wait for long but staff works with total commitment.

Do you know any other parlors or skin care centers which are good ?

5 ways to save on make up and Beauty products

Posted: 21 Oct 2010 03:00 AM PDT

I am a big time shopoholic. The moment I see any new brand coming up I am all ready to visit their store and try them out. Blogging has made this thing even worse because it keeps me more aware about new brands. Now I am getting addicted to onilne shopping as well.Whenever I see any discount coming up I visit the site and end up adding so many things in my cart that my husband often can't believe his eyes.

This time me and my friend Mamta went for shopping and this conversation took place at Revlon counter.
Me- Wow!!! New Nail paints I want them Mamta
Mamta - Yeah! Me too
(We both started swatching and SA happily showed all the nail paints to us)
Me- I am taking these five
Mamta - Yaa but I loved these too also on you.
Me- Ok then I will take these two as well
S.A- Mam this is of our new range and it is really looking great
Me-   O.K I will take these two as well.

So I landed up buying 8 nail paints from Revlon where I had not even planned of buying even one before starting from my place.

To make things works now I don't even remember how many nail paints and what different colors nail paints I have. This is what I came to know when I came back home.

I already had same colour Revlon nail polish with me which I  have used  so many times and still I didn't remember about it.
I was feeling guilty as this is not the first time I have done this.I have made lot many more dent in my pockets and it is just a small example.I have now decided to buy cosmetics with utmost care and I am not going to overdrive my budget and make up.

1. Keeping track of old make up - Well I found this a very interesting activity as I got the chance to go through my make up and even remember it .I have swatched my lipsticks, eyeliner, blushes and eye shadows on this plain white paper.I have applied cello tape on all the colours and wrote all the name of the colours and the brands which I got them from.So now before shopping I will give this paper a glance so that I remember all the shades which I have.

(I clicked the pic before naming and taping them)

2. There are some nail paints which I rarely use such as yellow, blue and orange.I am going to buy  them from  inexpensive brands like Street wear and Elle 18.If I truly love any one color then I willl splurge on it later.Elle 18 and street wear have okayish quality and they don't dry out nails or make them yellow.

3. Wait for Sale - Brands such as Maybelline and Body Shop do have good offers in sale season  so it is better to buy products from them when the Sale is going on rather than buying when they have just been introduced.

4. Small packaging and Sample - I have a habit of buying everything big even if I don't need them.If I go for jeans shopping I will think of buying 2-3 jeans together.Same goes with blush and all.So now  onwards I am going to ask for a sample product so that I can know wether it is going to suit me or not and then think of spending on it.

Also, I am going to buy small size products rather than bigger one which just increase the weight of my dressing table.

5.Swapping products - I have already started this.I give all my skin care products or make up products to my friend which don't suit me or which I am not interested in using any more.Best thing is she has dry skin therefore now all my costly products which  breaks me out can be of her use and I wont' feel gulity of buying some thing wrong. In return I am sure she will realise some day that she can also give me products which are meant for oily skin

I hope you are going to be with me  and won't let me splurge un necessary .Atleast not  on the product which I already have
