Biotique Berry Plumping Lip Balm and Biotique Almond Kajal (Product review) Posted: 04 Nov 2010 07:45 PM PDT Since a long time my lip care just involved applying lip balm for chapped lips, but thanks to Wise-She (especially Anamika) I got to know the concept of Lip exfoliation. I wasn't aware that lips also need exfoliation, by visiting the blog Wise-She daily I get to know so many herbal remedies! If you guys want to know the simplest, easiest lip exfoliation method suggested by Anamika just check out the sugar scrub suggested by her. Here is the link http://www.wiseshe.com/2010/04/exfoliation-with-help-of-tooth-brush-at.html Honestly I'm not somebody who is blessed with pink lips, added to that my aunt says regular consumption of hot Tea or Coffee has lead to my lips getting dark ( I don't know how far this is true!), she says before having Tea or Coffee one should sip a little amount of water to avoid that. But for sure, one thing that has brought a significant change in the lip colour is the regular usage of Lip balms & exfoliation! Now let me tell you all about this lip balm that I bought at Wise She suggestion! This is the Biotique Berry Pluming Lip Balm What does Biotique claim about this product? Berries are one of nature's great sources of vitamins & phytochemicals. This plumping balm restores lip fullness for a voluptuous, bee-stung look &refined lip contours. Ingredients list:
How to use Biotique Berry Balm? Smooth on and around bare lips, alone or under lipstick. Price of Biotique lip balm is Rs 99My Experience with the Biotique Berry Plumping Lip Balm: I have tried Shahnaz Hussain Shashine Lip Balm, but it didn't work for me! It didn't moisturize my lips or restore any softness. Whenever I applied it I felt something oily on lips because this doesn't moisturize at all! Finally my fiancĂ© dropped this while looking at its cute pot like structure and the pot broke even though it's made of plastic! The end to this dud! I read about the Biotique lip balms on Wise-She so decided try one of them, I was actually planning to get the Bio Aloe Vera Nourishing Lip Balm SPF 30 but the store only had the Berry Plumping Lip Balm so decided to give it a try & I'm quite happy with the product though I don't agree that it stands upto all its claims but it certainly mositurizes my chapped lips & makes them soft. What I like about this berry plumping lip balm: · This a very smooth & creamy balm that glides so well on the lips and moisturises so well. · This smell is soo good, it actually smells like strawberry & I feel like opening the tub just for the sake of the pleasant smell. · This balm lasts on the lips for at least 2-3 hours & even after removed the lips retain the moisture. · It's not bad if you accidentally taste this, doesn't taste bitter or anything at all. · Ingredients are all natural like Badam(Almond),Til(Sesame), Erandi(CastorOil) Surajmukhi(Sunflower) etc. · This soothes the lips & doesn't cause any irritation. · The price is decent for 16g because this will last for a long time at least 3-4 months · Organically pure and preservative free with a shell life of 3 years. · Dermatologist tested for safety. · No animal testing. What I Dislike about this berry plumping lip balm: · This absolutely doesn't give a voluptuous, bee-stung look as in no plumped look as claimed. · This doesn't give any tint it just moisturizes the lips. · The packaging is unhygienic because this comes in the form of a tub & every time you try to take some amount you have to put your finger in the tub. I usually wash my hands & take the balm from the tub to apply. · Doesn't have any SPF, but you could search for their other product Bio Aloe Vera Nourishing Lip Balm SPF 30.( I couldn't find this when I went to get it). Will I recommend this? Yes if you are looking for a lip balm for chapped and dry lips you could use this, not suitable if you are looking for a tinted balm. Here is the review for Bio Fruit Whitening Lip Balm (another lipbalm from Biotique) by Anamika http://www.wiseshe.com/2010/10/biotique-bio-fruit-whitening-lip-balm.htmlBiotique Almond Kajal What does Biotique claim about this Kajal: Almond Kaajal pure sesame oil, Sweet Almond oil along with extracts of Eclipta Alba and India Gooseberry nourish the eye area. This natural blend prepared in traditional Ayurvedic method improves your vision and promotes the growth of eyelashes. Made from natural extracts, you can apply this Kaajal everyday to add sparkle to your eyes. Key Ingredients: Almond Oil-10% Triphala extracts-5% Mulethi Extracts-2% Kapoor-2% Netranjan-5% Kaajal-2% Ointment-Q.S Triphala is a herbal compound comprising the fruits of Indian gooseberry ,Chebulic Myrobalan, Bellirica Myrobalan If Triphala (an Ayurvedic preparation) is available, you can wash the eyes with 'Triphala water'. Put a teaspoonful of Triphala powder in a glass of water, and let it stay overnight. Strain the water and wash the eyes with it. Mulethi( English name: Licorice) rejuvenates the eyes Kapooror Karpura (English name Camphor tree) In Ayurvedic medicine, camphor is reported to combat, eye complaints. Price of the Biotique Kajal is Rs.99 INR My Experience with the Biotique Kajal: My life's first kajal was Lakme Kajal andI have been using this for long time, so recently I decided to try something new and bought the Biotique Kajal and I'm quite happy using it. This is a dark black kajal which doesn't irritate or sting my eyes, I guess because this is a Ayurvedic product and includes herbal ingredients like almond and triphala. This doesn't smudge for atleast 3 hours. The packaging is decent, it comes in the form of a black colored lipstick case, and you can carry it in your bag and don't have bother about sharpening it. The net.wt is 3g and this will last for long time because you just need a little amount. I didn't find any cons overall this creates a kind of sparkle once applied.
