Skin toner - Fab India Vitamin E skin toner review

Posted: 27 Nov 2010 10:45 PM PST

Fab India vitamin E skin toner - I am about to finish this toner so thought of reviewing it today after spraying it 2-3 times more on my skin. This way I kind off feel the product while reviewing it:D

Fab India vitamin E range has been impressive till now. There are a few things which I liked in this range, one of them was the Fab India Vitamin E cleansing milk .

I always keep my toners in the refrigerator and when ever I wash my face I use them to remove surface skin cells, soap reside or excess oil from the skin.A good toner removes surface oil and debris which helps oily or acne prone skin .For severely acne prone oily skin astringent is the best choice.

Most of the dermatologists say that if you cleanse your face regularly twice a day and use good quality skin care products then you can go without a skin toner but for acne prone skin toner is a must as it cleans and removes the excess oil from the surface of the skin .

Price of Fab India vitamin e skin toner - I got them in an economy pack which costed me Rs 150

(I got an economy package for myself where there was vitamin E toner , body lotion , cleansing milk and vitamin E face wash there for Rs 450)

Packaging of the product is soothing and pretty isn't?

Key ingredients - Purified water, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Vitamin E

Few ingredients which one can look for in a toner is Salicylic acid, witch hazel, benzoyl peroxide. If your toner has any of the ingredients then it is going to keep your skin healthy.

What I like about the Fan India toner

Oily skin toner - This one suits my oily skin and nourishes the skin too.I feel fresh and it soothes my skin if I have scrubbed or applied any pack on my skin .

Having vitamin E in the toner is a big plus.

Sensitive skin - I generally transfer my toners in a spray bottle and when I sprayed this one it give some kind of burning sensation or I should say that it irritates my skin for 2-3 seconds so I am not sure whether it will suit sensitive skin or not.

Toner does reduce oil secretion and it removes all dirt and makeup residue too

It refreshes tired skin

Dislike - I don't have any complaints as such of this product but it is neither one of my favorites. It is almost similar to my Fab India neem tulsi skin toner.

Rating -3.5/5

Just came back after watching Guzarish and while watching Aishwarya on the big screen I realized how much of effort  makeup artist's and hair stylist's take to make one appear different in every movie.

I then turned back and saw few of my looks which were inspired by one or the other celebrity or the occasion.

This was the Diwali  makeup look .

Blow dry - How to perfectly blow dry hair

Posted: 27 Nov 2010 03:28 AM PST

 By Swathy Dubey

Hey everyone!

I'm a regular reader of WiseShe and often share health and beauty tips with Anamika over mail. She asked me this thing about getting the right hairstyle and using the dryer effectively. I'm a complete beauty addict and make sure that my hair looks perfect before any occasion – party or office meetings or interviews etc. I'd love to share what I know about getting a desired look using a perfect blow dry.

Step1: Hair wash

Yeah! To get a blow dry look, your hair need to be oil free. Clean your scalp with a good shampoo and make your curls soft with a right conditioner. It's just a normal hair wash with the purpose to cleanse the scalp and make your locks oil free. Dry your hair after washing but not rub-dry. You need to have atleast some amount of moisture and smooth texture in your hair for any styles look.

Step2: Apply styling product

You can't achieve a set look without applying a good styling base on your hair. Some of the good options include leave-in conditioners, straightening balm, shine serum, thickening sprays or mousses etc. Choose according to your hair-type – for example balm and serum for dry hair, sprays for limp and thin hair etc.

Step3: Section your hair

After you're done with combing hair post the style applicants, you need to part your hair. The more sections you part your hair into, the better blow dry you'll achieve. Tuck each part with the help of a clip or roll above your head. Leave one section open to start with. Please note that for thick hair, don't make bulky sections as it may result in an unset look of few locks.

Step4: Combine dryer and round brush

Here comes the trickiest part when you're all set to get that immaculate look. Brush your hair with a round brush followed by the dryer. The dryer nozzle must face the part you're setting and drying. While brushing, stretch your hair to the point when you feel that they're all separate now and have started touting inside or reverse depending on the style you wish for. Do it slowly and you'll know how to make it better and better as you do it for next time.

Step5: Final touch up

When you feel that your hair have a wavy texture and they bounce perfectly with the added volume which you get via blow dry, it's the time for a final finish. Use a shiny serum for a touch up at the ends (only at the ends) of your strands to keep them intact. You'll be all set to step out and blow others' mind with your blow dry !

Thanks,

Swati dubey

Smokey eyeshadow - Colorbar eyeshadow smokey grey (Review and swatches)

Posted: 27 Nov 2010 02:31 AM PST

Colorbar eyeshadow  - I was looking for some greyish eye shadow for myself and when found it in colorbar I started jumping on the colorbar  counter itself. This one is kind of a  silverish eyeshadow with a tint of black in it making it look little grey. This one is quiet pigmented and just one swipe stays long on my oily eyelids.

Price of colorbar eyeshadow 009 smokey grey is Rs 225 for 3gram.

It is going to last like a life time with  me

I really liked its packaging it is divided in two cases .On the upper case they have the eye shadow and when you open the lower case it has a small inbuilt mirror in it which is really cute.Though  I can hardly see anything in it but I  find it super cute.

Colorbar has this kind of packaging with there blushes as well

This is what the product claims :-

The Eye Shadow is a pigmented powder that gives the eyes a shine and pearl-like effect. Ultra fine in texture, it is easy to blend while its moisturising agent keeps your eyelids soft and smooth. This product is long lasting and fade resistant.

The Eye Shadow is available in 8 colours which are:-

Gorgeous Gold,
Copper Crush,
Spicy Brown,
Really Rose,
Expensive Pink,
Green Stroke,
Aqua Marine
Black Tie

It has a sponge applicator which some how is off no use.It has a U shape and I don't know why they made it this way may be because they wanted the applicator to fit into the lower case perfectly.

As I said that the colour is quiet pigmented and it has slight shimmer also into it.it stays on my eyes for 4-5 hours (without the primer ) Good no ???

There is almost no fall with this eyeshadow and it doesn't crease as well.If one is a newbie in makeup then trying these affordable eyeshadow for smokey eyes or other kind of look will be a nice thing to do.

Colorbar smokey grey eyeshadow swatches - See how pigmented they are

Likes -
1.Decently priced
2. Good pigmentation
3. Almost no fall
4. Good staying power

Dislike - I have no dislike of this leaving beside its eyeshadow applicator which I am going to use in my nail art now .It will act as a nice sponge
