The Registered Nurse primary function is to provide safe patient care for patients undergoing procedures.  This RN admits, circulates, scrubs, gives moderate sedation and discharges the patient. The nurse must demonstrate a variety of diagnostic and treatment procedures. The nurse is accountable for promoting patient safety, continuity/quality of care and general well-being of the patient.

Qualifications:

o Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.
o NLNAC or CCNE accredited program.
o Possess a current, unrestricted license from any state;
o Possess a current BLS and ACLS certification, preferred.
o 2-3 years of successful nursing practice in the preoperative setting preferred.
o Recent outpatient/endoscopy experience preferred. IV moderate sedation experience preferred.
